Ah, Despacito. We’ve all heard it, the song by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee that has put Puerto Rico on everyone’s map! The video on Youtube has cashed in nearly 3.5 billion views, and the number is still rising. A challenge to sing the song in different languages has been making its rounds through social media, and Alaa Kurdi, a Palestinian musician, has taken this challenge head first. His version of the song has already gained over 3 million views on Fb, in less than 24 hours, and here’s why:

The original song in Spanish is very sensual. Kurdi’s version is directed at those girls getting over a heartbreak. He tells them Mish Baseeta, which means it’s not okay! The song is a call for all girls to forget about that deadbeat that didn’t break your heart, because it’s simple, he’s not worth it!

Kurdi acknowledges that it’s not easy to forget in a short period of time, but we’re all too young to waste our times on headaches.

The song is featuring Majdi Shamasneh and Imam Mtour, who provide the song with that undeniable touch of Despacito.

So live your life girls, he’s not Don Juan 😉
